Finnish Ambassador to the UAE Hosts High-Level Business Reception in Abu Dhabi
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo met with Emirati business leaders and government officials at an exclusive reception hosted by Finnish Ambassador to the UAE H.E. Tulla Yrjola in Abu Dhabi on January 13, 2025. The gathering aimed to strengthen bilateral business and cultural ties between Finland and the United Arab Emirates.
The event brought together key figures from both nations, including Mr. Mishal Kanoo, Chairman of The Kanoo Group; H.E. Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade; Mr. Lassi Noponen, Director General and CEO of Business Finland; and H.E. Ms. Amna Fikri, UAE Ambassador to Finland.
"The UAE and Finland share a strong foundation of innovation and technological advancement," Prime Minister Orpo said. "Tonight's discussions have highlighted the immense potential for expanding our bilateral trade relationships, particularly in sectors like advanced manufacturing and sustainable technologies."
During the reception, Mr. Mishal Kanoo emphasized The Kanoo Group's established partnerships with Finnish enterprises. "Our long-standing representation of Finnish products at KONECRANES Middle East and recent partnership between Kanoo Machinery UAE with Pemamek in advanced robotics and precision welding exemplify the growing technological synergy between our nations," he said. "These partnerships demonstrate the vast possibilities that emerge when we combine Finnish innovation with the UAE's dynamic market."
H.E. Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi underscored the UAE's commitment to fostering international business relationships. "The partnership between The Kanoo Group and Finnish industry leaders aligns perfectly with our vision for economic diversification and technological advancement," he said. "Such collaborations showcase the UAE's position as a global hub for innovation and cross-border business development."
Mahmood Mian, Business Development Manager, UAE & Oman at The Kanoo Group who accompanied the Chairman – was also in attendance.
The evening concluded with discussions on enhancing tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries, and dialogues on strengthening bilateral relations.
