While Kanoo Travel has enjoyed being the American Express lead franchiser in the MENA region for the last few years, from August 2005 the franchise extended to cover Saudi Arabia and consists of a group of like-minded travel agents around the region under a common programme. This ensures higher standards, better operating procedures and many other benefits valuable to both the travel agents and the travellers.

Kanoo Engineering inaugurates 150,000 square feet headquarters at Dubai Industrial City. Kanoo Engineering LLC's infrastructure is designed to meet or exceed International Standards Organization (ISO) specifications. Being the newest division of The Kanoo Group, Kanoo Engineering LLC is in the process of acquiring ASME "U" and "PP" stamps for design fabrication and installation of vessels and pipings in oil & gas fields and power plants.

Kanoo Shipping has recently made significant investments in a new global shipping agency business. S5 Agency World was launched by five major regional market leaders to provide global port agency coverage to oil majors and operators of large fleet.

Following the success in the Middle East Kanoo Shipping expanded into the Far East market, Kanoo Shipping has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with MSCS Holdings, a Hong Kong based shipping and freight services provider, to form a new company called as Kanoo MSCS Pte Asia Ltd. ( with offices throughout the Far East region, focused on Singapore, Hong Kong and China. The project, which is to be incorporated in Singapore and equally owned by both parent companies, will cover port agency services in Asia.

Kanoo Machinery has embarked on expansion through establishing JV's with partners that offer complementary products, the most recent of which are CIS (a JV with Kone Cranes of Finland) and Arabian Equipment Rental, a dewatering pump rental business with Sykes of Australia.

The Kanoo Group has set up two manufacturing units in Dubai Industrial City. The Group has been chosen as one of the lead organisations by Dubai Industrial City's Maqayees (Standardisation) arm for implementation of Dubai Quality Mark (DQM) framework. The DQM framework is Dubai's home grown management systems standard which amalgamates the requirements of international standards on Quality and HSE and principle of Business Excellence. Moreover, it is a risk based progressive model, which recognizes organization on the basis of the level of their maturity. The Kanoo Group is one of the few companies outside DIC to implement this innovative standard.
